Claris Process Improvement Framework™
We Utilize “Business Process Mapping” to document processes while linking process data collected on the floor. The data collected is either through applying pre-determined times, direct observation or work sampling. The hierarchy we use maps each work-center and then drills down to underlying activities and elements. The result is a data map of the entire process to visually direct analysis of bottlenecks, process efficiency, and performance.
We then set out to analyze the BPM with respect to input parameters and the expected output to determine: (1) bottleneck activities; (2) process inefficiencies; and (3) performance issues. During the analysis we will compare processes to our own benchmarks to determine opportunities.
During the improvement process we take the results of the analysis and determine the activities (elements) that can be: (1) eliminated as non-value added; (2) simplified; or (3) otherwise re-sequenced to resolve bottlenecks or increase performance. The improvement process will include a report for management describing all findings and recommendations we propose for pilot.
During pilot we will work with the management team to determine the change management approach required for changes specified in the findings and recommendations report. We will also document the process changes in SOP format that will be implemented during Pilot. We will also work alongside the management team to help in implementation as required and then measure the results of the changes.
In order to sustain improvement it is necessary that the correct measures and measurement methods are used for both efficiency (labor productivity) and performance (level of service, speed). We will determine the correct measures and methods and work with the management team to implement those measures to insure sustainable process improvement.
